FAQ

How is the Largo a good fit for flatter head shapes?

  • The Largo has the shallowest cradle and highest head support in our lineup, making it the best fit for flatter back-of-head shapes. Since there is less natural prominence at the back of the head, the Largo helps fill that space to better support the head and maintain a more neutral cervical alignment throughout the night.

What does "head shape" mean?

  • When we refer to head shape, we're talking specifically about the curve of the back of your head (occiput)—not the overall size or shape of your face.

What's my head shape? I'm not sure.

  • We're happy to help. Simply email us at hello@kanudausa.com with a side-profile photo of yourself with your hair parted or pulled completely away from the back of your head so the full contour is visible.

What's in the box?

  • Pillow
  • Default Pillow Case
  • Height Pad Insert

What's the return policy?

How does Kanuda help with neck pain relief?

  • When proper cervical alignment is held overnight, your neck muscles can finally rest instead of compensating. That's where real neck pain relief starts. Learn more on our Why Kanuda page.

How do I wash the pillow case?

  • The pillowcase is removable and washable. Hand wash with mild detergent, then air dry.
  • Do not tumble dry, as heat may affect the fabric and fit.

FAQ

1. What kinds of neck and sleep issues do customers come to Kanuda with?
  • Most customers come to us after everyday struggles: morning neck and shoulder stiffness, all-day tension, tension headaches, tossing and turning, waking through the night, and "tech neck" from desk work—often after trying memory foam, feather, adjustable, and other one-sized fits all pillows without finding real support.

Others are managing more specific conditions and want better nightly support: degenerative disc disease, bulging or protruding discs, pinched nerves and tingling in the arms or hands, cervical stenosis, arthritis, forward-head posture, cervical facet syndrome, hypermobility and EDS, cervical vertigo, and recovery from car-accident and other neck injuries. Many are also side or back sleepers who couldn't find a pillow that filled the gap between ear and shoulder or kept their head from tipping forward.
2. What improvements do customers notice after switching to Kanuda?
  • After adjusting to Kanuda, the improvements customers most often share with us are waking with far less neck and shoulder stiffness, fewer headaches, less nighttime tossing and turning, deeper and more uninterrupted sleep, reduced tingling and tension, and better-supported side and back sleeping—simply feeling more rested and aligned in the morning.

Every person is different, and Kanuda works best as part of healthy sleep and posture habits. But for many customers, finding their right-fit pillow has made a meaningful difference in how they sleep and how they wake up.
3. How long is the adjustment period, really?
  • Kanuda supports your neck in a way most pillows don't, so it can feel firm or unfamiliar at first. Most customers adapt within one to three weeks, and many tell us the support was well worth the wait. If you're still adjusting after that, contact us—it's often a small placement or height tweak.
4. Can I sleep on my side—and how should I position myself?
  • Yes—Kanuda supports both back and side sleeping. The taller outer zones fill the space between your ear and shoulder to keep your neck aligned. When side sleeping, rest your head in the raised outer zone rather than the center contour; it can take a few nights to find your spot. Our Tensegrity Foam holds its support all night, so you won't sink flat by morning.
5. Should I use the height pad?
  • We recommend starting without it. If you have broader shoulders or a taller frame—or want a little more height, especially when side sleeping—you can place the included height pad under or inside the pillow. Start low, and add only if you need it.

I was having major neck issues and tried over a dozen different highly rated pillows before I ordered Kanuda. I tried the Primo first based on the quiz that I filled out. But I found it a bit too difficult for me to switch from back to side sleeping—it was too much of a transition in height.

The Largo was the right fit. It is a bit softer and the transition from back to side is easier. Lying on my back for even just a few minutes, I can feel gentle decompression in my neck, so I frequently use it for a few minutes during the middle of the day.

Neck Pain

After three variations of Purple pillows, one buckwheat, two Tempur-Pedics and a month going pillowless, the Largo is my champ. I suffer from daily tension headaches, relentless jaw tension, and neck issues. I woke up in the morning already hurting, rather than rested.

With the Largo, I actually wake up refreshed. I'd say it's reduced my issues about 70-80%.

For the casual sleeper, the price point and firmness might seem steep. For me and others with severe neck tension who have exhausted every other option, the Kanuda is a specialized tool that doesn't just provide a place to rest your head—it provides a nightly reset for your nervous system.

If, like me, your neck tension has felt like an unsolvable puzzle, this is the piece that finally fits. It transitions the sleep experience from 'managing pain' to 'recovering strength'.

I'm not going to lie and say this was a great experience from the beginning—it wasn't. I'm a very active side sleeper and move around a lot during the night, so having my head held in place took some getting used to (and a few restless nights).

But it was worth pushing through because now I wake up with no neck and back pain. I had spent years and a lot of $$$ trying to find a pillow to relieve morning pain. I finally found an answer.

    Game Changer!

Prior to some internet searches on “pillows for neck pain”, I had never heard of the Kanuda brand or its products. I took the quiz, thought pretty hard about the price point and picked my Piano Air. Delivery was fast and with a 60 night guarantee, it was a risk free option on relief for what was some fairly uncomfortable, intermittent nerve pain from terrible sleeping positions. No BS, in about a week, neck pain resolved. Sleeping much improved and I’ve confined to order additional items form the store in search of addional relief for my 50 year old aches and pains. Highly recommend. Customer service is top notch.

Finally sleeping through the night after years of pain

I'm so glad that I took the chance on trying out a Kanuda pillow. I've been suffering from neck and shoulder pain for years, and have seen multiple chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and accupuncturists, with no lasting fix. As the years went by, the neck pain started to affect my jaw. I'd wake up in pain every morning, but worse, I couldn't sleep through the night, and the sleep deprivation started to affect my cognition and daily energy levels. What started as a little neck soreness and stiffness turned into no longer being able to think clearly enough to perform well at work each day, and no longer having the energy to have a social life.

When I saw the first ads for Kanuda, I thought that it was too expensive, so I put off buying it for a year. What finally changed my mind is seeing that there was a long trial period and reviewers said returns and exchanges were easy. I decided to give it a try. I started with the Piano Air, and tried it for about a month before coming to terms with the fact that it just wasn't quite the right fit. I loved so much about the pillow: the sturdy material, the well-made cover, the thoughtful design for head and neck, the way the sides of the pillow felt when I side slept, and the space for my shoulder in that position.

Unfortunately, the Primo Air's neck support wasn't a match for my head/neck, so I still tossed and turned at night. I put off returning it for a few days because I was afraid of how difficult it would…

    Primo Air

I purchased the Primo Air due to on going neck stiffness and knots in my upper shoulders. After using for several months I have seen a substantial decrease in the knots in my shoulder. The pillow does take a bit to get adjusted to but has been very helpful for relief.

    Largo

My wife bought me the Largo pillow. I have severe cervical foramenal stenosis. I have been sleeping with this pillow for about six weeks now. It felt a little stiff at first but once I got used to it, I have noticed that I don’t wake up with pain in my neck and shoulders anymore . I would highly recommend this pillow.

    Helps with shoulder pain

I have always preferred sleeping on my side however i have chronic shoulder pain on one side and sleeping on the side makes the pain worse. The pillow encourages me to sleep on my back more and when I do sleep on the side the support is better so it's not as painful.
